Step 1: Prepare Your Antlers

With a circular or table saw, cut each trophy shed flush across the cuticle pad (the base of the antler nub). As part of your installation guide for bullet lock mounts, mark the center point of each antler base with a pen or marker.

Step 2: Pre-Drill the Mounting Hole

Use a small pilot drill bit to start your hole for the bullet lock mounts—this helps guide the screw and prevents splitting. Enlarge the hole with a 1/8” drill bit (or just smaller than the screw diameter) as outlined in the installation guide. Important: Do not exceed the screw size, or the bullet will not tighten securely. Avoid forcing the bit—if it breaks inside the antler while working on your trophy sheds, you’ll need to re-drill elsewhere.

Step 3: Attach the Bullet Lock

Place a washer on the provided screw. Align the Bullet Lock base flat against the cut surface of the antler as per the installation guide. Using a drill or driver on low speed, drive the screw through the Bullet Lock mounts and into the pre-drilled hole. Repeat this process for the other antler to secure your trophy sheds.

Step 4: Mount to the Rack Skull

Insert each antler’s Bullet Lock mount post into the corresponding socket on the Rack Skull. Rotate gently until you feel the Bullet Lock System engage—it should click or stop firmly when fully seated. Refer to this installation guide to ensure proper setup. Step back and check alignment; adjust rotation for symmetry, especially when showcasing your trophy sheds.

Pro Tips

Angles Matter

You can slightly angle your cuts before attaching the bullet lock mounts as outlined in the installation guide to achieve different mount positions for your trophy sheds.

Epoxy for stronger holds

For a permanent bond, apply epoxy inside the skull sockets before locking the antlers in place, as outlined in this installation guide. Remember, no adjustments can be made once set, especially when using bullet lock mounts to secure your trophy sheds.
